I254/C297 2D Games Programming
I254/C297 Final Project
Due date: Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
The project should be a game of your choice. Here are some details:
- It can be 2D or 2.5D.
- You must use Godot to create the game.
- The size of the project should be equivalent to about 2-3 average
size homeworks.
- You can start with one of the homeworks we did and develop it into
a more elaborate game.
- You can start with an online tutorial, but your program cannot be
limited to the tutorial. You need to develop it further than the
tutorial. Also, specify the name/link of the tutorial in the report or
Readme file.
Things that you can try to include in the project:
- Collision detection
- Keyboard and/or mouse interaction
- Sound effects
- A score or indication of goal achievement
- Basic instructions for the user
- An environment which is either explicit or implicit
- Animated sprites
- Positive/negative feedback to the player (power-ups or downs).
- Mandatory: A README file with instructions for the player
to be able to run your program. This file should also include any
credit for artwork and sounds that you took from a website or that
were created by someone else.
- Export your project as a Windows or Web executable and include
that in your submission.
Presentation. We'll reserve the last day of class for
short project presentations. Just tell us what your plan is for the
project and show us how far you got. A demo would help if available,
or screenshots of the program.
Turn in: A zip file of the Godot project, including the
executable and the README file.
